Illogicomedia Foundation Lives On

It's hardly a secret that Illogicopedia's pseudo-parent organization, the Illogicomedia Foundation, is a barely-visited, rarely-updated spam haven managed by slackers who rarely find the willpower to peel themselves off the bedsheets before the crack of noon, let alone actually show up and put in an honest day's work. However, about once per year the Benevolent Dictator for Life does consent to make a token appearance to do minor cleanup...

This year he came to the undeniable conclusion that "maintaining a wiki sucks", and as a result, the IF wiki has been closed to the public (i.e. spambots), and the content is being migrated to a new corporate presence.

Rest assured that this too will be neglected, but will look much cleaner year round, maintaining the illusion that your donations are indeed hard at work.

Membership Drive Draws to a Close

Well, Howdy Pardners,

Well, it's that time of year again—the time when we pull off our boots and gloves (and probably those of any nearby folks we can hog-tie) so we can reckon a full headcount of the number of mangy varmits; lazy, swindling cokepokes; and ornery, no good galoots that signed up this week to rustle articles over yonder at the Double-? Ranch.

Wow. Only one paragraph in and I'm completely sick of the cowboy vernacular.

Anyway, here are the statistics from our Semi-Annual Triangle Ring Membership Drive:

SpamBots SockpuppetsActual Users

Witty Phantom

All in all, greater than the numbers we'd projected.

The SpamBots were far and away the most prolific article writers, though we've observed a significant decline in the quality of their humour. Sadly, they were all sent to the gallows and their articles to the abattoir. The socks provided much more interesting content, though it too was mostly deleted (for tax reasons) and their accounts burned (because we were concerned some of you sillies might mistake them for actual users).

So, our three n00bies of the week: ICameHereInACloch, who we hope will make a first edit sometime very soon; Juan/Quan, who despite having a split personality does have one edit (redirecting Quan to Juan); and Witty Phantom who by virtue of writing a full article is a shoo-in for Illogicopedian of the Month.

Thank you, everyone!

Illogicopedia lives!

From the main page at Illogicopedia, approximately three million nanoseconds ago...

Before anyone pisses their pants that ?pedia is back from a coma, please put diapers on, because it's more like a stroke.

Here comes the boring factual part.

As some of you may well be aware, the site is working, but with a reduced feature set. That nasty Roberto error appears whenever you view a page with an embedded image. Since most pages contain images, most of the site is inaccessible.

Temporary measures
  1. Visit the edit page for your signature (most likely located at en.illogicopedia.org/index.php?title=User:/sig&action=edit) and revise it so that it does not contain images. This means when you put your signature on a forum page, you won't bin the forum page. Anyone commenting using an image will be given a warning, and then banned if they persist.
  2. Do not comment out images unless the page is very frequently used, such as talk pages. By commenting out images, since otherwise the site will be littered with commented out images when image functionality is restored, impairing the site more permanently, and we sure as hell know you won't be arsed to fix it again.
  3. Continue to use ?pedia freely as per site policy.
  4. Scream in anger whenever you visit a page that contains an image.
  5. Cry yourself to sleep at night. It's how all good artists operate.
  6. Usher in a renaissance where you rely solely on your literary prowess.

Illogiblog is back, baby

OK, so it's been inactive recently but I hope to get more attention for the blog, mainly for Google search purposes. More on this in a later post. The new blue design may be a bit gaudy but it represents a new era in Illogibloggings. Or something.

So, check back here for the latest IllogiNews, straight from the chipmunk's mouth.
